Marsa Alam international Airport celebrated
Lufthansa’s initial direct flight to Marsa Alam destination, carrying on
board196 German tourists from Munich airport. This flight was an introductory
for the winter tourism season in the region, that’s expecting to be very
promising as per all the current booking statistics.
The flight crew and the passengers had a unique reception ceremony, headed by General Tarek Taban Zaddah, Airport’s General Manager and a group of the top management officials from the airport, Lufthansa and EMAS for Aviation services.
Water canyons welcomed the arrival of the plane. The Crew and the passengers treated with a special-made cake, roses, chocolates and some special souvenirs upon entering the arrival hall.
It was agreed that Lufthansa would operate for the new route, 3 scheduled flights on weekly basis, to increase the number of German tourists in Marsa Alam. Lufthansa will increase its flights to Egypt by 40% to support German market request upon Egypt.
The German market faced a 23 % increase in the traffic in H1 2018, compared to year 2017, as per Marsa Alam International Airport’s traffic reports, which indicates the great demand upon the beach tourism in Marsa Alam.
